Start Ups
Where are your talking heads?
Are you a start up founder out to disrupt your world? Are you armed with a burning passion but not quite sure what to do, or how to do it? Are you getting tired old advice on how to turn it into a successful business?
We get it. We’ve been there too.
The big problem is that the business world is hardwired to a 20th century legacy playbook. Many talking heads play a small, shallow, shitty game of competition. They confuse unfair advantage for strategic advantage and “faster, better, cheaper” for innovation. They’re caught up in the bright and shiny of digitech with an approach to value that’s deeply disconnected from the real world.
This game isn’t just risky, it stops you unlocking your real value potential. If you play like this, at best, you’ll waste time and money pivoting, at worse you’ll simply fail.
If you want to fly, you need to play a regenerative game. Yup, disrupting your world for good is commercially more profitable. They’re not mutually exclusive, they’re mutually compounding.

Any of this sound familiar?
Most talking heads preach from an old school business model playbook that enforces low value, high risk patterns. Unpack this, and their approach to sensing, seizing and scaling opportunities is often blinkered.
If any of this sounds familiar, you’re probably exposed.
Their approach to sensing opportunities looks something like this….
Their approach to seizing opportunities looks something like this….
Which, in practice, ends up focusing you like this….
Blinkering you from your potential….
And ending up like this…
Don’t play this game.
instead ask yourself about the hardcoding…
What are the assumptions underpinning this thinking?
And most importantly, what is their approach to the real world?
If it looks like any of this, then, odds are, this is the game you’re playing….
Which puts you on the wrong side of the real disruption curve.

* You’ll probably encounter some of the problems of Strategy Transformation leads and Design innovators too.
Unlock your real potential
Playing a regenerative game gets your innovation on the right side of the real disruption curve. This is not just knowing what to do and how to do it, but how to do a 180° flip (the bird) on broken methods, models and false constructs hardcoded as “best-practice” patterns of the current innovation playbook.
Don’t look for the patterns.
Look for how the pattern book has been imprinted.
Unlocking disruptive innovation potential comes when we go beneath the bright and shiny moving things, to where it’s quiet and still.

Where are you now?
At the heart of real disruption is finding and unlocking real value potential. If we want to seize all the blue ocean opportunities around us, we need to change how we sense and sense-make.
Where is your time, energy and money going? Where are you focused? What are the questions you’re asking? What are you doing to build your compass of consciousness?
Different questions. Different lens. Different playbook.
Not linear markets, but living systems. Not binary bits, but biological atoms.
